Who knew that the Voldemort saga was only a prologue?
1998 was a pivotal year, a year both despondency and adulation. It was a year that changed the world, going down in history as one of the most eventful twelvemonths that passed in living memory. Lord Voldemort – lording over his dark domain – was finally defeated… permanently. With one mighty hammer stroke [and a stroke of good luck], the Riddle tyrant was dethroned at last and the wizarding world could gather and rejoice as a great shroud was lifted from Britain.
The great pall of Voldemort was thrown off, his spirit vanquished to the furthest corners of the earth. At last, the wizarding world could celebrate its great heroes and tremendous victory as they licked their wounds from war. But the casualties were lightened by a pervasive feeling of accomplishment: Britain could – at last – sleep at ease.
The ministry proclaimed the victory as the beginning of a great peace, a millennium of Pax Veneficus. All over Britannia, wizards and witches alike were united in their goals of reconstruction, joined by the delight at the prospect of a shining dawn. The rest of the wizarding world rallied together to support the rebuilding of Britain. Beauxbatons and Durmstrang pledged to assist Hogwarts and scheduled another Triwizard Tournament to boost morale. Their efforts appear to have worked.
The British Ministry of Magic believes unyieldingly that nothing more will trouble them. They proclaimed the Battle of Britain in 1998 to be their great victory, proof that no sinister force could disturb the Ministry's proud ideals. They believe no wound is too deep to heal and no scar is too great to hide. The passage of time has erased the injuries the Dark Lord inflicted, and no one could possibly be audacious enough to try to disturb the wary peace.
But the Ministry is wrong, just as it has been about so many other things. Right as the wizarding world is looking forward beyond an uneasy reconstruction, something is tearing at the newly minted walls, working to destroy everything they've recreated. The ministry's promise of a millennia of peace may have been mere rhetoric.
Less than half a decade after the destruction of Voldemort's wretched body and spirit, the scattering of his evil forces, and the shattering of his twisted ideals, the waters are stirring yet again. Some great evil lurks just on the horizon, waiting for their moment to strike. Only the most astute can detect some dark presence, but change is in the air...
But is the force from within or from without? With rumors of a secret society stirring and the remnants of Voldemort's leviathan awakening, the populace is forced to reconcile with the unfortunate situation. Something, somewhere is shaking the shaky legs of recovering Britain. With the light appearing at the end of the tunnel, threats of darkness resurface.
It is now 2002. A mere four years after the final blow that broke the back of pureblood elitism, those same dark followers are animated once again. They can feel the coming gust; Voldemort left the door open for another demon, every bit as terrible as the one before.
Just as the sandstorm begins to subside, a hurricane is coming―
