Life in Trenton forever changed on the night of February 17th, one year ago, when 17-yr-old Kyle Saunders killed himself. His suicide left the small town of Trenton, California devastated. He was the star of the town, taking the high school to the championships since he entered Trenton High School in grade nine. In a city where football was a way of live, his death was much more then a family matter. The town mourned for months. How could they go on without their star player?
Along with this came the question of why?
Why did a boy with so much potential end his life so suddenly?
And so young?
Don't forget, we've got unfinished business,
stories yet to unfold,
tales that must be retold,
and I regret not knowing when to put an end to all this madness,
keeps me wanting,
keeps me wanting more…
No one really knows, and as the year rolled by, the residents of Trenton slowly began to make their peace with Kyle’s death. His family however, still live with ever present memory of their son and brother who left them so suddenly.
Had the pressure gotten to be too much?
Was he really depressed over the break-up with his girlfriend?
Was he really that un-happy?
Mr. Saunders is trying to live with the fact that his model son is gone forever. Mrs. Saunders never thought she’d have to bury her baby. Kyle’s remaining brother and sister have become the subject of town rumours and were left to pick of the pieces of their parents.
Sell me out I'm yesterday's old news,
phrases left on paper,
black ink bleeding through
the pages where we made our history.

Welcome to Trenton, California.

Founded in 1899, it’s a small town built on big dreams. The local high school is the center of the town, where football players and cheerleaders rule the world. After the death of the Captain, star quarterback Kyle Saunders, the school fell apart and a year later they are beginning to pick up the pieces.
Will they be able to move on with a new Captain?
Will the spirit of Trenton come back?
Only time will tell…
